Planes, Cars & Carry Ons – Getting Fendi Home

Baby Fendi is finally here! It was not the simplest journey, but she made it. Toronto to Miami – a 3 hour car ride, 2 flights, followed by another 30 minute car ride and she is finally home.

The puppy that got off the plane at Fort Lauderdale was gorgeous, alert and overall cool as a cucumber.

It was much more challenging getting Fendi to us than we had anticipated. The girl that typically delivers the puppies for our breeder was already scheduled the next two weeks.

Fendi, being 12 weeks, was at the last week of  permitted air travel until she could receive her rabies vaccine (at approximately 4 months). Time was of the essence to get her down as we did not want to wait another month for her. Thankfully, a friend from Toronto and my mother volunteered to help us.

Fendi was an angel during travel. My mom kept her occupied with toys and

she did not make a peep for both flights. The airline also allowed Fendi to fly as a therapy dog, this was pure kindness and luck on our part and she was able to nap on my moms lap the duration of both flights.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
